About the masterclass

How to archive human essence in virtual worlds? How may we perceive constructively the tectonic shifts proposed by new technologies? How to foster forms of collective consciousness? How to differentiate between trends and legacy? During the masterclass we will explore international case studies of immersive stories collected from multiple continents of exploratory practices, groundbreaking initiatives in New Media storytelling and a quick insight into Human Violins, the only Romanian VR installation selected in Cannes Immersive 2024.

About Ioana Mischie (Ro)

Ioana Mischie is a Romanian-born pioneering transmedia artist (screenwriter/director), and transmedia futurist, multi-awarded for film, VR and innovative concepts. Among her recent original transmedia franchises, Government of Children (3D film, web, XR) is empowering children to see themselves as leaders and to redesign their society, Tangible Utopias is a VR franchise developed in Cannes XR and Venice GFM, being the first Eastern European VR piece receiving the Meta Award via Women in Immersive Technologies, or Human Violins being the first Romanian project selected in Cannes Immersive and Venice Immersive. Her cinematic paths combine long-term concepts, groundbreaking technologies, and forms of expanded artistic impact.
